Chanel has released a new beauty film in honor of their 16-shade Rouge Allure lipstick collection and it’s not what you would usually expect from the luxury label. But, with that being said, we think that’s what makes it so intriguing!
The model behind the film, Inguna Butane, is probably one of the only people who could pull off a face covered with shards of glass while still looking gorgeous. According to Chanel’s Creative Director of Make Up, Peter Philips, the inspiration behind the mirrors came from the mirror-embellishments on Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Philips is also the director of the film and spent 3 hours gluing the shards of reflective glass to Butane’s face!
The film has a psychedelic vibe to it and gives off the impression that you’re looking through a kaleidoscope making it nothing less than captivating. We’re surprised that no one else has considered this approach to selling lipstick considering the only color in the entire minute and a half is on Butane’s lips! Check out the video for yourself below and let us know what you think of this new direction that Chanel’s beauty film has taken.
